Pregnant and beautiful

First I would like to dedicate this special edition to my friends that are pregnant and for those of you who are thinking about it and wish to become a mother one day.

A friend not so long ago said, that she had nothing to wear while being pregnant... and ever since that day I wanted to create this editorial, because I truly believe that no matter what size you are, or even if you are pregnant, you can still look beautiful.

All you need is attitude, and that is the attitude you have towards life, towards yourself and towards how you want other people to see you.

The pieces I have chosen here I believe them to be comfortable and chic, and I would definitely wear any of these pieces if I was not pregnant (which I’m not). I wanted to give you simple and chick pieces that can easily go into your closet, and are not crazy expensive. The accessories I chose are more to give you an idea of what I would wear to give that touch of fashion into my cloths.

Coco Chanel said Fashion fades; only style remains the same.”

Sneak peek @ London fashion week

LFW 25th anniversary was everything you would expect for the celebrations. In general the look was sophisticated but still had enough edge to retain London's reputation for pushing the boundaries and discovering new talent. Among the trends were structured dresses, bright prints, minimal styling, block colours, neutrals, and metallics.

My favourite shows were: Aquascutum, Antonio Berardi, Basso & Brooke, Erdem, Graeme Black, Issa, Jaeger London, Jasmine di Milo, Jenny Packman, Luella, Matthew Williamson, Nathan Jenden, Paul Costelloe, PPQ, Pringle of Scotland and Sass & Bide.

The fashion shows can be watched on Style.com

The Glam, Chic and Casual shoulder

One of the trends for this fall is power shoulder. I wanted to give you 3 options in were you could identify yourself and your personal style, and choose which shoulder  goes best with you.  I see myself to be between the chic shoulder and the casual shoulder, what’s yours?

The Glam shoulder: Balmain has managed to be the king of shoulders this season, so I had to add that shoulder to the list. Lanvin necklace, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel silk pink ruffle neck blouse, Markus Lupfer silk panelled dress and the lovely Christian Louboutin shoes with lace.

The Chic shoulder: Sequins have been with me since I was four years old when I performed Tinkerbell on a National Theatre so I guess that is why I could not resist adding this “different” D & G Dolce and Gabbana silk sequin print blouse, Jaeger London braid trim peaked shoulder jacket, and Fendi cream sweater dress, Investment piece Chanel bag from Bagdelux, and Blackberry Tour from Electronica Caracas.

The Casual shoulder:  I love these casual looks for every day , and this great  cardigan from Rebecca Taylor violet silk and cashmere puff sleeve, Zac Posen lavender silk blouse, Marc Jacobs perforated rose silk blouse, Sazingg purple ring, Acne loose ripped boyfriend jeans , and grey converse shoes.

Sneak peek @ New York fashion week

So New York's Fashion week ended last week, and although I did not attend I saw every single designer on Style.com and this is my verdict...

In general, the trend seems very romantic and edgier, the 40's are still present with many designers, the high waist will still be a dominant factor, and bright prints and sequins will reign like always. The colours for next year are electric blue, yellow, beige and white to name a few.

I tend to dress very comfortable, and many fashion experts call it Bohemian chic. So most of the looks you see here are what I would wear or what my friends or family would look great in. My favourite shows were: Adam, Badgley Mischka, Barbara Tfank, Behnaz Sarafpour, Carlos Miele, Chado Ralph Rucci, Dennis Basso, Halston, Issac Mizrahi, J.Mendel, Marchesa, Naeem Khan, Oscar de la Renta, Reem Acra, Sophie Theallet, Tibi, Tuleh, and Zac Posen.

Items from left to right:  Altuzarra, Ralph Lauren, Badgley Mischka, Sophie Theallet, Carlos Miele, Carolina Herrera, Chado Ralph Rucci, Christian Cota, Dennis Basso, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Douglas Hannant, Isaac Mizrahi, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen and Rachel Roy.

Investment pieces for fall

If we had a money tree we would have anything we want... but obviously that would be the perfect world, right?  When it comes to clothing and shopping we can be very impulsive specially when we definitely want something...and when it comes to cleaning our closet we tend to leave it for later, and we accumulate more and cloths that we don’t use...

I personally enjoy arranging my closet from one season to another, but what I love the most is the art of buying “classic” pieces that can last a life time in my closet, and I can bring them out every season or every two seasons.

I review my closet in spring and fall, and last week I checked my closet to know what to keep, what to give and what to replace and I deeply recommend you do this twice a year.  There are cloths we don’t use and if we don’t use them, let’s give them to someone that has less and may enjoy our cloths.

So review your closet, be honest with yourself and keep what you want, but be generous and give back.

My investment pieces for this fall are...

Missoni sand sweater, Michael Kors leather a line skirt, J.Crew  lace ballet flats, Miu Miu gillet, Sazingg pearl and leather necklace, Fendi rose detailed oval sunglasses, Givenchy quilted leather gloves, Louis Vitton handbag it can be rented from Bagdelux, Donna Karan blend wrap shirt, Moschino trompe l’oeil navy and grey sweater, Oscar de la Renta leather cuff, Ralph Lauren grey cape with leather trim, Donna Karan LBD, Tory Burch leopard print flats, Alexander McQueen houndstooth cashmere scarf, Burberry canvas trench coat, Lanvin quilted handbag.

There are just some things we can’t resist, and have to have! For some women, we have to buy handbags, sunglasses, jewellery and for the most part we have to buy SHOES!  For this shoe edition I would like to introduce the bootie or mostly called the ankle boots.

You can either love them or not like them so much, but believe me if you want to a pair of shoes this coming fall, I believe it should be these type. We saw how in spring there were a few coming out, but now for fall it is a must piece and I would say an investment shoe as well.

A stylish table setting

For me table setting is as important as dressing up!

I grew up seeing my mother dress accordingly to the colour of the table, and I guess it got stuck on me. I deeply enjoy setting the table and choosing the right colour of table mats, playing with the glasses, napkins, and making sure my flowers go great with my table
.
I always try to innovate with my flowers, and with the decoration of the table I’m constantly looking for napkins holders or table mats in different colours or fun materials.

Now for the dress code of any type of event, it has to be your personal style and what you feel the most comfortable, but in this case you are the hostess so you would have to “over dress” to my opinion.  I thought these 4 dresses would represent perfectly the mood of the decoration, but with that touch of over dress I believe we need to have as hostesses.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the art of dressing your table.

Remember that you can always ask for my professional and personal opinion, and if you need some fashion Consultancy tips just contact me.

Brown/Beige: Lanvin detailed pleated dress, Sazingg earrings and ring, Christian Louboutin peep toe shoes.

*Coral and browns dresses can share the earrings and the ring from the brown outfit, but I wanted to give you some rose gold, since it has become very popular in the past years.

Coral: Michael Kors dress, Anita Ko rose gold with diamond earrings, Alexis Bittar short geometric necklace in rose gold, Fendi multicolour python pumps.

Blue: Osman Yousefzada blue draped front dress; Muriel Grateau blackened white gold lace earrings, Isharya gem cuff, and Christian Louboutin lace peep toe pumps.
