Inspiration of the day

There's nothing more beautiful than a chandelier, I love this picture because it reminds me of vintage decor and romantic settings for parties and gatherings.

Baby shower deco ideas

What a complete different world!

I have been researching for the past 5 days, and it is amazing the amount of information you can get on baby showers on the internet. Nonetheless, I decided that I was going to base my advice on my taste. It is hard to express what you like until you start looking for it; it was hard at first because I’m no regular girl because I like good things and like to give good and different gifts.

So here is a peek on what I would do for a Baby shower.

Decoration: I love the baby jumpers as decoration. They really represent what a baby shower is all about! Decoration, decoration, decoration. I agree that it is a lot easier if you already have kids, because you can hang your kids thing as decoration... but for those of us like me that don’t have children we have two choices.

Option 1 Create jumpers, buy them at your local retail store for a very cheap price and decorate, and paint each of them. Then give them as a gift to the mother to be. Don’t forget your house needs to have option 2.

Option 2 Fill your house with candy, flowers, candy, flowers and candy! Make sure you have entertaining games to play, and great music!

There are more classic options like, all in beige with white candles, white and blue or beige and pink are also beautiful ideas. No matter what you decide, be creative, and have fun arranging your home, play some music, dance, enjoy every moment! If you are just too busy, look for inspiration on the internet, there are plenty of ideas out there or if you prefer, write me and I’ll give you a few ideas.

The food table can be arranged like the one in the picture with beautiful roses or with candy. I love both options as long as they are dramatic, and make a good conversation subject (extremely important)

Gifts: I must admit that there are plenty of choices out there, but for what I like or I think could be a great gift was hard to find, but when I started I was on a roll. So if you like any of the gifts here and wish to know where to buy them, don’t hesitate to contact me, I have all the contact information.

I dedicate this edition to Clementina

Fall Report 2009

This fall season almost everything is a comeback!

The boudoir look, 40’s, biker look, ruche, vests, and high boots

High waist is coming back again and its coming back strong! So, search for those old pants with high waist, and you will fit right into the comeback trend.

The 40’s this is definitely my favourite fashion era. Although there was a war going on, the fashion in the 1940’s was so glamorous, and chick. If you don’t remember much about it, just rent a movie like Casablanca or Gilda to understand better the way they dressed.

The boudoir look oh lala sexy is back! I remember that in the 80’s I would wear a sheer body from Anti Flirt, put a very nice silk “bra” in the same colour of the body, and on top a jacket so that I would not reveal all the goods...

The biker or if you prefer the Michael Jackson look. This is a mixture of the 80’s look, with black tights, leather jackets, and metal chains to accentuate that biker look.

Ruche over the past years has been very popular, of course is like anything in fashion it comes and goes. Ruche or drape you can see it throughout this coming season from Balenciaga, Missoni, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta to mention a few.

Vests, in any shape, form, size, colour, fur, not fur you name it you have to wear them.

High boot, every season in fall boots come high and higher, but I think this season is a record high. So if you have beautiful thing legs go for it! If you are a bit like me, and you have thicker wide legs then I will share my secret... look for boots that are stretch... believe me your leg will amazing, and just as good as a zipper boot.

Look of the week

The look of the week I have created this week is all in nude and it has been a must summer colour for awhile now, especially if you have a great tan. Remember these are just ideas on how to mix and match things together. I decided that since the hat has a great black sequin strand I would focus on that and make the accessories black. Nude looks great with any colour so don’t be afraid in using turquoise, pink, blue, orange, gold, red, purple colours. These are the items: Cosabella top, Derek Lam sequin vest, Eugenia Kim braid fedora hat, Ysl earrings, Halston envelope clutch, Ysl necklace, Proenza Schouler pleated silk pyjama pants, Stella McCartney nude shoes, Alessandro dell Acqua cream sheer knit top, Oscar de la Renta leather cuff, Stella McCartney pants and Versace peep toe shoes.
