- Triangular/Pear shaped bodies that are narrow across the shoulders with wider hips and bottoms.
- Inverted/Triangular bodies have broader shoulders with narrow hips.
- Straight/Rectangular bodies are similar in proportion through the bust, waist and hips.
- Hourglass women have well proportioned, shapely bust to hip ratios.
- Diamond shaped women have bodies with narrow shoulders, thicker waists and narrow hips.
- Round bodies have wider rib cages and narrow hips.
So what are the types of cloth that we can wear and hide those areas that most bother us?
- Triangular/Pear - wear fuller tops that fall loosely at the hip. Fuller leg pants and flared skirts hide bulges.
- Inverted Triangular body types should wear styles that are fitted at the shoulder and more A-line over the hip. Don't wear tops with ruffles, thin spaghetti straps, delicate camisole tops or complicated necklines.
- Rectangular/Straight bodies can create the illusion of an ideal hourglass shape and curves with belted tunics and feminine chiffon dresses. Halter tops and gathering and pleating on a shirt at the sleeves and waist also create curves.
- Hourglass-shaped bodies are curvy with shapely legs and a defined waist. Enhance this body type by wearing belts or choosing tops and bottoms with defined waistlines.
- Diamond figures need to wear loose styles that camouflage a heavier middle.
- Round women should avoid tops with puffy sleeves or overly baggy clothing. Very slim skirts and tight clothing should also be avoided, since they will only emphasize a slimmer lower body half and create the illusion of imbalance.
